Community Matters Fund

We are thrilled to announce the completion of the HEAT HUG PROJECT, a collaborative effort with partners including Localgiving, the Community Matters Fund, and National Grid Electricity Distribution. This initiative aimed to address fuel poverty within our local community.

The HEAT HUG PROJECT provided energy efficiency solutions and warm packs to vulnerable households, targeting low-income families, the elderly, and individuals facing economic hardship. Through the dedicated efforts of ZUFA Connects and community partners, the project accomplished the following:

​

• Distributed quilts, blankets, thermal curtains, and radiator bleeding keys to improve insulation.

• Conducted energy efficiency sessions to educate on reducing energy consumption.

• Provided guidance on energy tariffs and access to funding schemes.

• Engaged with vulnerable households, offering warm packs for improved living conditions.

The HEAT HUG PROJECT significantly:

• Reduced energy costs and enhanced living conditions for vulnerable households.

• Fostered a sense of well-being, comfort, and security within the community.

• Provided crucial support during challenging times for those in need.
